OUR STORY

The Stylist Startup Fund Inc was born out of lived experience and a deep understanding of the beauty industry’s hidden challenges. As salon professionals ourselves, we have seen the excitement in the eyes of cosmetology students, only to watch that excitement dim when they face financial roadblocks after graduation. Whether it is struggling to afford booth rent or feeling unprepared for the business side of their career, too many talented individuals are left without the support they need to truly thrive. We realized that while beauty schools provide the foundation for technical skills, many students are left without the financial resources, mentorship, or entrepreneurial training required to turn their craft into a sustainable career.

We founded this nonprofit to bridge that gap. The Stylist Startup Fund Inc provides scholarships to high school students pursuing cosmetology, grants to recent graduates transitioning into salon life, and business education and mentorship that reflect the real-world needs of emerging stylists. Our commitment is rooted in community, equity, and empowerment. By removing financial barriers and offering meaningful guidance, we are helping to create a future where every new stylist, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to succeed and make their mark in the beauty industry. This is not just about hair. It is about hope, confidence, and building legacies through the power of beauty.
