At The Stylist Startup Fund Inc, our work goes beyond scholarships and grants. We build pathways into the beauty industry through mentorship, practical education, and community programs that create real opportunity for future and newly licensed stylists.

Mentorship

Program

We match aspiring and newly licensed stylists with experienced professionals who offer guidance, encouragement, and real world insight. Mentors help with portfolio building, client care, salon readiness, and career planning so each mentee grows with confidence.

Business Education Workshops

Our workshops are open to the community and focus on the skills that support long-term success. Topics include entrepreneurship, professionalism, scheduling, budgeting, pricing, financial literacy, branding, social media strategy, and client retention. Sessions are offered online and in person when available.

Salon

Directory

We coordinate tours of modern salons and suites so students and new stylists can see workspaces, ask questions, and meet owners. Participating salons can join our Salon Directory, and priority sponsors are featured to eligible grant recipients who are seeking a home base.

Resource

Hub

We provide checklists, templates, and guides that make the transition from school to salon smoother. Examples include a first month budget, booth rent checklist, client intake form, booking policy template, and content calendar for social media.
